He currently holds a residency at LACE and is responsible for putting together a series of art workshops for the public.

The “Re-visions” workshop will be lead by So on So Forth  artist Nate Geare of Renegade Gallery, Jenna Westra, and Mario Rosado. Its open to the public and will run from 1:00 – 4:00pm. We will be working will collage and exploring the relationship between advertisements and the urban environment!

Info:

LACE is located in the heart of Hollywood, an ideal place to observe and contemplate the collision of Los Angeles — its intricate networks hum with activity as resources are transferred and spaces are reconstructed through use or development. ASAP’s 2011 Re-Visions of LA drawing workshops will build conversations around how our urban environments are constructed and what that means to our every day lives. Each month a new group of artists will spend an afternoon at LACE providing free drawing classes.

All levels and ages are welcome as we talk about Hollywood while drawing our surroundings.

All workshops are free, and all materials will be supplied.

Artist Collective So On and So Forth – First Group Exhibition

“Riveted”

March 12,2011 – April 4, 2011

Reception March 12th: 7pm – 1am

Pehrspace Gallery

325 Glendale Blvd

Los Angeles CA 90026

The Los Angeles based artist collective So on and So Forth is proud to present its first group exhibition “Riveted” at Pehrspace Gallery. Curated by Manny Guardado one of the founding members of the collective, it will be the first in a series of traveling phantom galleries. “Riveted” will run from March 12, 2011 to April 4, 2011. The opening reception will be held on March 12th, with special performance art, and live music starting at 11pm.

So On and So Forth was the creation of a group of young artist with the intent of making an impact in the Los Angeles art scene. The members of the collective are diverse in their individual practices but are brought together by a shared passion for art. So on and So Forth weaves its own path in an art world riddled with rules and preconceptions. “We are a group of thinkers, artists, and visionaries making work because we need to, because it is our way of life”.

“Riveted” will showcase the talent and range of the members of So On and So Forth. The exhibition will feature a new installation by Lucy Engelman exploring consumption and loss. Michael Ano invites participants to run a mile marathon in a performance piece that meditates on competition, and self-perfection. There will also be new paintings and drawings from Devora Orantes, Nathan Geare, Micah Nelson, and more. “Riveted” will be the celebration of a fresh new addition to the Angelino art community.
